Pieta House, the charity that offers free counselling to people experiencing suicidal ideation, those who engage in self-harm, and those who have been bereaved by suicide, is teaming up with Pint Aid in a worthwhile fundraising campaign this December.

The Staff Choir Project was launched by the HR Division of the HSE in May, with the support of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation and Beaumont Hospital. This project got underway with a request to members of staff choirs in the health service to get involved in recording a Christmas 2016 song to raise funds for charity.

A large crowd gathered in the Ballina Manor Hotel, Mayo, as Pieta House launched Mayo’s Darkness Into Light 2016 (DIL 2016) series of events in association with Electric Ireland. Joan Freeman, founder of Pieta House, was joined by Kevin Molloy from Electric Ireland, former Rose of Tralee Maria Walsh, along with members of local organisations and volunteers from across the county to launch DIL which is now in its eighth year.
